Sunset from my back verandah .....Ahhhhh
While we may have been cursed over the past few months with very little day or night observing, the sun put on a real show yesterday afternoon (and again this afternoon) putting the clouds to good use.
These are mosaics compiled using Autostitch from jpeg straight from a Canon 300D with a 28-90 zoom lens.

Top shots Paul. Lovely colours. What I would give for a horizon like that.

Thanks guys. I'd love to be able to put it to good use at nights, but I'll take what I can get atm.
We've been here since the 10th of December last year and I haven't had a nights use of it yet, except to test some gear for a couple of hours.

Lovely sunset Paul, it's time like that you can never have a lens wide enough.

I'm glad you captured it Paul.
Yesterday evening the sky was beautiful, but cactus hour was upon us and I couldn't spare the time appreciate it.

Paul,
You should salvage some of the timber from Ron's bridge and build a log cabin observatory.
That would look awesome.

Log cabin - alone in the wilderness - dark skies - sounds like grizzly adams!!

Well we had Grizzly Adams sunsets again last night. I'll get the pictures mosaiced tonight.
I've though about that Jeanette (not the observatory part but collecting the timber), I could make a few retaining walls and a really solid chook pen
