Near full moon in Infra Red light

Hi
Last night when sky unexpecidly cleared I tried my infra red pass filter on the moon. What you see here is in the light of 800Nm and longer IR light, no visible light. Taken with 10 inch f5.6 Newtonian, modded 350D camera with original IR cut filter replaced with clear AR coated glass.
7 x 1/60sec exposures ISO100
Processed in IRIS and PS

Scott, that is so sharp, and clear, IMHO, maybe a little to sharp, but that is my personal view only, other than that, well done indeed.

That is superb, Scott!

Is there actually more contrast in IR than visible on a full (near full?) moon, or is it processing that's brought the tail and contrast out? I'd like to see a comparison an IR/visual images side by side with either same or no processing...

Al.

Thanks all. The contrast does seem to be slightly stronger in IR light, however I will endevour to take a vis. light image next full moon and compare.

Lovely image Scott,

It is so clear and crisp. Looking forward for the comparison between IR light and Visual Light.

Beautiful shot, Scott. Indeed very sharp and perhaps a tad too sharp on the smaller craters, but wow very eye-catching!
