Large bright meteor?

Whilst giving my new Pentax K200D a run tonight I caught sight of a rather large (say a 1/3rd the size of the moon) flash across the sky... it was fairly high in the north and passed from east to west for probably about 1 to 2 seconds... leaving a nice bright trail. The time was roughly 11.30pm.
Just thought I'd make note of it in case anyone was interested.
Oh and I live in Watsonia North, Victoria.
