Mars

I had another go at Mars tonight. This time I set the scope up in front of the house so didn't have the roof in the way. Only problem was the street light was a bit closer to Mars than I would have liked. I also had an extension tube so was able to achieve focus with the powermate fully seated in the focuser this time. I've taken quite a few AVI's but here is one I quickly stacked as a first try. I still have quite a shift in the blue colour channel but I'm happier with this image than my previous one.

Taken with Neximage through 5xpowermate/10" f5 Newt. 90 sec AVI @ 10fps and best 100 frames stacked.

Thanks for looking!

Amazing that you've got such a detailed image of the 11" disc!

Thanks. I hadn't appreciated how fast it shrunk. Missed the opportunity in December while it was close due to the clouds.

A very nice Mars Peter,

It's amazing you have captured that much detail on a very small object!

Well done.
