Antennae Galaxies NGC4038/4039

Hi Guys,

Took this on Friday night of the Antennae Galaxies. 10 x 5 minutes at ISO 400. Was rather low in the horizon from the light pollution. Not sure on your monitor but on my LCD i can just see the curl tails. it looks like one of those garden bugs curled up....

hi Eric,

great result! nice colors and detail.
a bit more exposure time and we'd see the galactic trails of that pair.

Good Shot Eric,
You have captured supernova 2007sr.
Compare this image rotated to the same angle.

Well done Eric, I can make out the tails faintly and a nice capture of the SN as well.

I tried an image of these galaxies a well last year but failed in getting the tails, they certainly are tricky devils but I will definitely will have another go armed with more knowledge now.

cheers

Nice work here Eric,
great detail with such a large fov with this object.
I really like the colours, very typical to this object so your right on with your balance.

Keep up the good work.

Rich
