M42 with a bit of dressing up.

Same image of M42 but this time I have layer masked the trapezium area to bring out a bit of the detail. Looks good I think.
The second image has had a little more noise reduction and a bit of a lift on levels and curves.

Image setup

Leon, Bloody satalites. Get them in nearly every session, will have to start and filter them out.

Hi Doug, here it goes.

7X5 minute images at 400ISO taken with a Canon 40D. Trapezium is a compilation of 4X30 sec ISO 400 images added with an image mask in CS2.
Equipment:
Takahashi FS102 (Thanks JohnG) mounted on Skywatcher EQ6 and guided with a DSI on an ED80 mounted side by side with the Takand driven by PHD Guiding.
All I need now is some clear skies and enough time to make it all work.

Noise reduction with Noiseware standard version.
I think I had OCNR on for this session also.

Well done Doug. Excellent dynamic range. The first one is fine, no need for extra processing.

Looks great Doug. The 40D is unmodded I assume?
