I took these shots of B33 a little while ago, but hadn't bothered to process them at all until tonight. These were taken through the US$29 SurplusShed 80mm refractor that I built from bits - and which is described in the ATM forum here on IIS. I had a Nikon D40 on the end, which has an very aggressive IR filter, so it was a little trying in that I had to go with ISO800 and 1600 for eight exposures of 180 seconds each. I stacked them in Photoshop CS3 and mucked with curves a little. A really quick bang-up job.
I think so too Scott. I'm just about to remove the IR filter from the D40... but i could be looking at getting another, dedicated one as well soon. In either case it should be fantastic.
