Latest (Proposed) Shuttle launch

Can anyone suggest the best way to watch Thursday's proposed Shuttle launch? I see from the panel on the LHS, that there are a number of links to NASA & Kennedy, but there are also many sub options when I click on a link.

I have done a bit of a search in the Forums, but without a great deal of luck. A comprehensive post from someone who has 'done it before', or a link to a previous post, would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/sh...ain/index.html has a link to NASA tv where I am pretty sure they broadcast it live plus have a streaming video of it.

The best way to view it is to be there which I will be fortunate enough to do for the following launch as long as it isn't delayed again.

I have a friend who lives in Orlando who watches it from her balcony and I'll be staying there but travelling to the main viewing area and then touring NASA

Thanks MT, and all the best for your trip. I have seen the link on the left, but as I mentioned, taking the link leads to a whole host of other options available, and I just wondered if there was a "Best" one.

Hi,

It states on the NASA TV link, under the schedule:

Feb. 7, Thursday
5:15 a.m. - STS-122 Fueling Coverage Begins - KSC (All Channels)
9:15 a.m. - ISS Progress 28 Docking Coverage (Docking is scheduled for 9:33 a.m.) - JSC (Public and Media Channels)
9:45 a.m. - STS-122 Launch Coverage Begins - KSC (All Channels)
2:45 p.m. - STS-122 Launch (All Channels)

Is that what you are looking for?

Daniel...

You're a lucky bugger Steve Have a great time!

My business partner witnessed a shuttle launch several years ago and says he can still hear it.

tah mate I will, I'll be taking more camera gear than anything on this trip, on my check list I've even left out socks and undies just so I can squeeze another lens or two in!

I really really really really really really really really really really really really hope that it is delayed by a week, I will be in Florida from the 14th to the 21st and was to see STS123 launch but due to the delay of this one (STS122) STS123 was pushed way back, I was soooo dissapointed but maybe I could get to see this one live, if not then maybe the landing. I'll let you know when I return how I went. Worse case scenario, I get to spend a full day at NASA anyway, not a bad consolation prize.

Dennis.

Thanks Steve,
Is that the info you were after, Mike?

I thought you were after advice on the best option to watch... I usually watch NASA TV on "Windows media (best for full screen)" which you'll find under the "Other Viewing Options" tab on the NASA TV Page.

Al.
