We copped it rather bad.
I was away when the storm hit so my computer gear was still connected up.
Lightning hit through my ADSL line filter (sizzled it) and took out the ethernet port on my main computer.
Luckily I had a spare filter but I have to replace my ethernet card.
Using the lappy for now.

The winds looked like they were going to blow every tree down. Some branches ended up on cars and power lines. The rain was coming down in thick white sheets. It also came in two waves as well. There was some hail as well. The power also went out for a few hours.
Glad you all survived the storm - sorry to hear about your lightning strike RB. Would a UPS with built in line protection have helped if the modem was plugged into it?
Good to see you got the washing in in time, Daniel (unless it's now in the next suburb ).
Not much here. A bit of rain (9.5mm on both gauges) and a bit of wind but not much in the way of lightning.
More importantly, that white bucket you can see in the corner of one of the pictures is the one that covers my HEQ5!! I was too worried about going back out to bring it inside, but as you can see from the picture below despite damage to cars and buildings (one building I saw lost it's roof and there was that poor mercedes benz!) the bucket held on and my mount was dry afterwards!!

I've got a UPS on the system Dennis but I'll be looking into a line protector of some sort.
I hate to think how much worse it could've been though.
