What do you do with the Camera Stuff

Hi Guys,

Just a question on what others do when they have a permenent set-up.

Do most of you who do imaging leave the camera and the complete set-up connected in the protection of the observatory, or dismantle the camera stuff at least.

My observatory is very well insulated from the elements and has exhaust and air circulating fans running all the time 24/7.

Do you feel it would be a problem to leave all the camera stuff and such on the setup permenently

The temp range inside the observatory never exceeds about 28-30 degrees.

Leon

I leave everything ready to go 24 * 7. So long as your lab is absolutely waterproof, and not too hot or humid I don't have major concern. I typically cover everything with a ground sheet - to keep dust off.

Hi Leon, I seal up the telescopes, leave the DSI setup on the 66 but pack up my DSLR and take it inside the house at the end of each session. All the scopes and DSI are covered with caps, Power lead removed, power supply off, EP's in their covers and boxes.
The only things I bring inside are the DSLR and the laptop.

Thanks Guys, I do a bit of both really, when I know that the nights are going to be clear for a couple of nights i usually leave it all hooked up.

And then again when this is reversed, and moon is out, or the weather is bad for a while i usually pack it away.

The observatory is very secure, and totally weather proof, and temp controlled to a point.

Anyway thanks for your responses, i just wondered what others did.

Leon
