Want to buy and ship from the US but don't have a US address or credit card?

The Aussie dollar is at nearly 93 cents to the US. What a brilliant time to buy from there those goods that you otherwise can't find here.

We've used these guys before. They're very good. They basically accept goods on your behalf in the USA from companies who wont ship outside the US. They will also buy the goods for you if the company in question won't take an international credit card. They even have an Australian bank account so you can EFT direct funds to them. Brilliant!!

The guys' name is Aaron Griswold (cool, huh) and his website is at:

www.boxvoyage.com

(Just for the record - I'm NOT associated with this service in any way. I bring it to your attention, that's all.)

Quote:
Welcome to Box Voyage

Box Voyage was originally created to service the needs of Tied Up With String's clients. We hope to continue on Kim's professional and personal service to build long lasting relationships with her clients as well as our new ones.

Box Voyage is a parcel forwarding service dedicated to helping its unique international clientele purchase and obtain merchandise from US online merchants who do not ship internationally, charge exorbitant fees for international shipping, and/or do not take international credit cards.

This, along with package consolidation and our online shopping service, are accomplished in an efficient, low cost but professional manner with personal touches and service along the way. We believe this is the best way to encourage repeat business as well as word of mouth advertising.

If you are familiar with Tied Up With String, then you might notice that the wording and the rates are the same as TUWS. We will make changes to the website to make things easier for you, but after talking to new and future clients (and Kim), we thought it best to stay competitive with our fees by keeping them low.

By the way - for you Aussies, we have direct deposit into an Aussie bank account as a payment option, saving you money. For everyone esle, we currently accept PayPal and international credit cards through PayPal. As business increases in your home country, we will look to open bank accounts in those countries to further service the needs of our clients.

We want this site to be about our clients and their needs beyond "shipping/consolidation." We will have information on our services and process, but also we will give our clients a portal to online shopping, sales and promotional codes, and other interests of our clientele.

Melanie and I (Aaron) were married in Sydney when we lived there a couple of years ago. We understand the need for a service like this from personal experience and aim to treat our clients the way we would want to be treated. We hope you will feel the same way.

Please feel free to contact us at the information below. We want to know what you want out of this site and company. We will send you updates on the site.

Please email us to let us know if you plan on forwarding a parcel to our address to be shipped to you. We will send our address and payment details then.

Handy to know, I'll bookmark this one.

There are a number of re-shippers in the US but non come close to the rates from www.boxvoyage.com.

A quick note that his maximum box size seems to be 45x30x30cm, which will still limit what you can get shipped. Also as he ships USPS (insurance is available), I would stick to non-fragile items.

I've just had an email from Aaron - and have learned that he is one of us - and used to teach astronomy at a science museum in the USA. He also started the astronomy club at his uni. Very cool indeed

There are a couple of IIS members that reside in the US & possibly may be able to offer the same or similar service to members.
