[SOLD] Vixen NA140SSf Refractor Telescope OTA

As new Vixen NA140SSf for sale. Objective is 140mm Dia. x 800mm F.L. (f5.7) and weighs 6.5kg. Brilliant rich field telescope but does display some colour on the moon, planets and the brighest stars. Comes with 7 x 50 finder and flip mirror diagonal. Original instructions and packing. $1400.

Out of interest - where is the point of balance of the OTA? Is it right in the middle of the dovetail where you have it - or alot further forward due to the heavy lens?

The balance point is pretty well in the middle of the tube as shown which gives quite a lot of latitude particularly when fitting some of the newer monster eyepieces. I wouldn't say that the objective lens is all that heavy, now, my Tak TOA-130s's objective is heavy!!! the balance point is near the back of the lens cell (well, not quite but.. ).

I meant to mention that the scope is about $500 less than the current price from Astro Optical (I think) which puts it close to the bargain class.
