Wow,
gotta love those ED80's huh, nice shot Paul, very nice.
We should have a forum just for us 80mm users.
Keep at it.

Nice shot Paul, judging from that, you've got everything nicely sorted.

l've just coupled my 80mm ED to a William Optics diagonal and a 22mm Nagler 2" and the views are amazing in such a small scope, these are dollar for dollar the best scope on the market, l second the call for the ED 80 forum. Great shot too Paul.

That's a lovely photo, one of the best i've seen. The core has stars and has not been burntout like a lot of other photos of Omega.

Yes its a well focussed and guided shot, plenty of inner detail yet fainter outer stars visible. Nicely done.

Thanks everyone.

Just managed to get it through some sucker holes. After only a couple of shots I can see a lot of potential in this little scope. Its not fully setup yet, I'm waiting on my guiderings (plus alot of other stuff). I'm only using the standard mounting rings and I haven't got the two scopes properly aligned yet, so getting a guide star was a bit of a challenge. But nothing like trying to use an OAG though.

Focused using DSLR and guided using ToUcam and K3CCDTools V2

Excellent image Paul - I can "feel" myself being inexorably pulled into the centre as I look at your image.

Cheers

Dennis
