I have no idea what i am doing nor have any idea what i want. no seriously. I have placed and paid for a canon 20D with the baader UV/IR filter. The camera is in excellent condition (looks brand new). My desperation and the spur of the moment (something is telling me) to get a Modded 40D. Wake me up people. I stil havent receive the camera as yet but it is on the way from Canada. should arrive 5 - 10 business days.

Reading reports, the 20D yields lower noise than a 1D at ISO 800 and above!!
Anyway, subject to change of mind but right now let me know if you are interested.

note: A modded 20D out performs the 20DA even if it is designed for astrophotography It can also be used for normal daytime photography with correct colour balancing option as well as proper focus.
if it were me id have to go cooled which gives you a centrelds 40d modded, i had a look at tamtarns stock one and NO amp glow even after 7 mins . for the exposure,
or the 8QHY somewhat of an unknown quantity at the moment.
Or a FULL ON DEDICATED Job... sbig etc ( big bucks)
If you want to move ahead thats the choice as i see it, with your current gear
