Histogram question please

Hi Guys,

Well I nearly have this Histogram stuff licked, I think, I wont get to cocky yet.

Just one question please, now with a wide field image which is basically all black with a star field, and say m42 in the middle, is the Histogram a fairly steep rise and a curve on top, and then a steep decent, tapering out to the right along the plane.

Gee i hope you make sense out of that one.

Anyway as you probably are aware i usually image wide field stuff, and most of the time my Histogram looks pretty much this way.

Could some one please confirm this for me, or suggest something different if i'm off the mark.

Thank you.

Leon
