DSLR Horsehead in Ha full moon

Hi all
This Chrsitmas Eve, the sky cleared but was hazy and very bright. Even with the Ha filter the raw images had a very bright (red) background, certainly not dark, not even the &nm filter could not stop that much light pollution.

Horsehead area. Meade 6 inch F3.6 Cometracker Schmidt Newtonian.
7x10 mins ISO800. Baader MPCC and 7Nm Ha filter. Modded 350D camera
Processed in Iris and Photoshop. Only red channel used after aligning and stacking.

Have a go at how much light pollution and noise there was in each sub. This is a full res. crop of a individual shot right over the horsehead itself.
Merry Christmas all
Scott

Nice image Scott.
Another out imaging one of the most peaceful nights to image.
It was the same here, bright but clear.

Cheers and Merry Chrissy.

Considering the conditions, you've picked up some nice detail Scott. Well done.

Awesome result - especially given what the subs looked like!

Thanks. I want to try again without the moon and the UHCS filter and see how it goes.
