Bert was kind enough (thanks Bert

) to give me his old pier (the one he used to capture all his great images in here over the years) and it was in a slightly rusty state, and the chrome parts were shot.
I immediately went into 'restoration' mode

I stripped it right back and Etch/Primered it all before giving it a few coats of Full Gloss Black. Then I polished all the rusty chromed parts.
The top adaptor wasn't included (Bert needed that part for his new pier) so Houghy was good enough to sell me one
