24mm TAL UWA eyepiece first light report

I just went out in my yard last night and tried out my newly traded 24mm TAL UWA eyepiece.
I would say that 70% of the field is useable and sharp using my F/5 newtonian dob leaving the final 30% soft around the edges.
Its a great eyepiece for finding things because I timed a star and calculated the field to be 90' arc minutes at 62x power . I fit the double cluster in the eyepiece with room to spare !!!!!, there was also no ghosting or blackouts at all.

I also unscrewed the bottom of my 2" GSO barlow and then screwed it directly onto the barrel of the Tal. This worked out to be 60' of arc at 94x.

Then finally , I used the entire barlow on the 24mm TAL and the edge correction was perfectly flat with 42' of arc at 136x.

I feel that overall this will be a great finder and great eyepiece for seeing large objects.

I am more than happy with it, so there you have it, my full report on the Russian-made 24mm TAL UWA. Clear skies to you.
