Congrats mate - personally I really enjoy the wait for new toys - exciting time. Spose you will be looking for some dark clear skies to test it out on the weekend

Did you also pick up an adapter to mate the 400D to it?

oh yeah, they're mating like rabbits....

yeah, i got everything except the mount. it'll be nice to get it up and running. i also got a diagonal and 20mm eyepiece, so when i get bored of photographing (or to impress others) i can do a bit of observing. can't wait, the anticipation is killing me!

unfortunately, i shan't be getting upto cambroon this weekend, but i will be going over to gatton, so hopefully the clouds will skip off so as i can play with my new toys.

It was nice meeting Josh today, and I am confident we'll see some good stuff coming off of that scope some time soon.

Enjoy the rain Josh

You mustn't be to blame. My experience is that you have perfect weather after ordering astro stuff that continues til the night it arrives and then it clouds over.

Good stuff Josh, congrats on the purchases, and just for the record I agree with Terry - this run of cloudy weather started way too soon to be your fault.

Paul - what have you been buying lately?

Pftt.
I cannot get anyone to come and level the ground.
It would only take a bobcat 3/4 hr at the very most, but they just don't turn up when they say they will. They promise and promise but nothing.
Maybe the job isn't profitable enough for them. I don't know what to do. Level it by hand I guess. Should only take a few days to do on my own.
LOLOL The ground should be nice and soft for digging by now. All this rain.
Sorry about the winge.

I think I started it with the purchase of a 9mm Burgess Optical planetary eyepiece from Frontier Optics two weeks ago. It hasn't seen 1st light yet.

Kudos to Frontier Optics for great/speedy service.
