Laser Collimater/ Laser Leveler

I am building a 4.2Mt concrete floor for my new observatory, I was having lots of trouble trying to get the boxing levelthen I had a brainwave why not use my laser collimater to get the level,?
It works a treat.

Hi Ron,

By placing it on top of a bubble level do you mean? How did you go about it?

Cheers

or you could try making a jig out of timber or similar that holds it at a right angle. Insert it into a drill that is held in a clamp or similar to produce a rotating level. clamp the drill ON. Use an 'O' ring to roll over the button on the laser to switch it on. Can be used either horizontaly or verticaly.

Or Not.

I made a jig to hold the laser collimater, then I used a block in the moddle of the pad and made sure it was level in all directions with a spirit level, I lined the laser beam on one side then rotated the laser collimater in all directions adjusting the boxing to the hight required, I then checked with a string line and level and it aggreed with the laser so I cosidered that it is level
I did not use the collimater part, only the laser beam

I made mine with an old Holden thrust bearing, a circular bubble level, an old wooden tripod and a red laser pointer. Works a treat. I then modified it with an angle level so I could do my gutters at the correct angle.
