Hi to you All.
As Ken (Ballarat Dragons ) mentioned earlier in an other post last night, although some Moon glow, it was a perfect crisp night, so where else would one be, but imaging, an so it was.
By 4.00 am it was time to pack it away, I had capture the Horse Head Nebula and also the Helix Nebula, and was pretty pleased with the results, but i feel they could still do with some longer exposures.
Anyway this is not what this story is about.
Ok, I said to myself time to give it away, so packed, cleared and put in order the Observatory, checked the power was off, OK close her up...
As some of you may know my Observatory moves as a whole, and the complete building rolls on four sets of wheels alone a rail at the bottom, and works quite well too.
Started pushing, and away she went, and then bang, and a sudden stop,

bugger i said must have a stone or something under the wheels, or something,
Anyway on closer inspection with the torch, i had found that the front wheel snapped and fell off, and the support frame dug in nicely into the wooden running rail.
So here I was, 4.00 am in the morning, looking at a half closed Observatory, with the set-up still out side.
After some carefully selected adjectives, I mumble to my self, what the .... am i going to do about this, cant leave it like that as I had to be away early that very morning.
So to cut a long story short, just picture me, at 4.30 in the morning with two ropes hooked to the bottom front corners of the Observatory, and wrapped around my waist, dragging this thing to it's closed position.
Yep, I can laugh now

but it was not very amusing when your alone at that time of night, and the wheels fall off.
So no imaging for a little while until repairs are made, just thought i would share this with you
Who said astronomy isn't interesting.
Cheers Leon
