heq5 goto

just wondered if there was a different way round turning a heq5 mount into a goto mount without going to the expense of a skyscan upgrade.
can it be done through software , i have modded the controller through a gpusb shoestring guiding box

thanks in advance

Yes there is, but you need the correct motors and gears. As long as your HEQ5 has the GoTo motors you will be fine by connecting the little box that is under Testing that uses a lappy as the GoTo controller.

Astroman can fill you in on how close the box is to completion, he is beta testing one.

You could go this route:

I have the Vixen Polaris version of the DA-1 and it works very well.
