Ethos for Lx200r

Has any one used a 13mm Ethos with a LX200r or similar scope and would I get the full 100 degree view when using it with one. If they work really well then Santa may order me one. or would Santa (wife) be better of getting me a couple of Naglers instead as I am just starting to collect premium eyepieces. Any thoughts would be great.

Regards Matt.

I'm keen to know too Matt.

There is a very good review about the 13mm Nagler on this site which is well worth reading. See http://www.iceinspace.com.au/index.p...42,245,0,0,1,0

Bintel have them going relatively cheap at the moment so the Ethos would need to be mind blowing given you could get a couple of Naglers or a Pentax or two for the price.

Cheers

For an f/10 (possibly f/11 effectively with diagonal) I'd go Nagler T5 20mm instead. 13mm is high power in that scope, which is guided even, so there is little point in having 100deg FOV IMHO.

For a 10" LX200 you're looking at 192x, 8" is 154x. Unless you are into faint planetary nebulae, it's probably too much power. If it were me, the 17mm T4 would the choice. It has a tad more True FOV and more suitable mag. The 20mm T5 or the 22mm T4 are also very good. I have the 22m T4, but the 20mm T5 is probably slightly better corrected, but with somewhat tighter eye relief.
