Check the basics first.

Hi all, it always pays not assume the worst case scenario.

Last night after setting up and fitting the DSI II ready for imaging I suddenly realise I don't have any signal to the camera. So after two hours of checking cables, reloading software and various other diagnostic tests I find the problem.
I didn't connect the AC supply into the powered hub hence no signal .
I connect the power to the hub and in under a minute I'm off and running except that the DSO I was after is now behind a tree, geez I just can't win.

I salvaged the night by taking some darks and doing some visual work instead.

Sometimes it pays to check the basics first

Cheers

Funny Ric...and you gotta see it that way.

I did the right thing got myself a nice new hub but tried the cam without it..it worked... ????

My experience with the lpi was such that I was worried what the dsi might put me thru...I hid the axe before I started..yet it went well so well I feel I have missed so much of the experience enjoyed by others.

I find there is something about working at the wrong end of the day leaves one a little befuddled so I often writ a check list... now all I have to do is remember where I put it.

So now that its working are the clouds rolling in???

Hi Dennis, my T-shirt is at the printers as we speak

Hi Alex, the clouds have stayed away so it's a good night for being out there with equipment that's all working correctly and suitable entrys have been made in my observing diary.
