Shutter shake

Hi folks
Trying to take images of the moon thru C8 using a canon 350eos. Cant get short exposure in DSLRfocus without disabling mirror lock. I end up with shake at 125th sec using low ISO for low noise.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong.

Carl

what are you using DSLR focus for? maybe try doing it manually, sure takes longer, but at least you can use the mirror lock up function. Use a shutter release cable or remote.

ImagesPlus has a focus control and can still use mirror lock.

I've also used a remote, like Andrew says. Just zoom in on the LCD and look for sharp focus.

Or you can use a star to focus on and then swing around to the moon and use a cable release or timer.

Hi Carl!
I am using my 350D and 10D with DSLRFocus in mirror lockup mode without problems.
What is needed that this works in DSLRFocus.
Connect your DSLR via USB,
Select in the Functions Menu on the camera "mirror lockup"
AND the important part:
Set the "DRIVE-Symbol" on the camera to the clock symbol!!

Have Fun

Hi

I used mirror lockup on my 400d for the first time recently. I found that with my cable release I had to press it twice for it to take a picture. This may seem obvious to all but it confused the hell out of me. I thought I had broken the cable release.

I use Focus assist to focus, this doesnt seem to work with mirror lock so usually i turn it of, focus then turn it back on when i want to take a picture.

Hi Paul!
On the camera as Drive you can select "single image", "image series" or "clock symbol" (= timer).
Select the clock symbol and you dont have to presse the release button twice!
