Cool First real "Learn the sky" night

Hi all,

Just sharing my quick scan of the sky tonight. I'm trying to learn where stuff is, so I'm starting with constellations, bright stars, and clusters. Tonight I added:

* Scorpius
* Saggitarius
* Ara
* M7
* M6

to my list of known objects!!

I would have stayed out longer, but mozzies were ***** me off something chronic!! Even got mother, brother and his gf out tonight, wanting to know what was what.

This is DJV, signin out!

Cool

No, I don't have those appz!

Correction, just downloaded them. No idea how to use them yet, though. Will check it out when I wake up for the second time!

Tis 4am, and I've finally seen MARS!!! And Venus (very bright), Saturn, Orion (well, his belt), SH2-281 Emmission Nebula, a few satellites (tricky suckers to get in my binoculars FOV at zenith), and more.

Now, I'm goin back to bed!!
