your the third so far, Tamtarn and I saw it as well. Tamtarn started a thread in the 'observational astronomy' section, if you want to add your self to the list of witnesses.

I saw it was clear this afternoon and thought about it, but it got too windy. I've discovered its just pointless trying to image when the wind picks up.

Eric, I didn't care about the howling wind tonight! I just wanted to take advantage of the clear sky to use my DSI for the second time.

It was blowing a gale straight off the open paddocks

But we had stars (cloudy now).

Strange but it was very windy up here in Sydney past few days, and it calmed down only yesterday.

Yep I saw the meteorite, very bright like a white/green Flare, lit up the whole sky.

It even left a trail in the upper atmosphere. Possibly space junk?

edit:

errr too windy to use the scope though.

I sure did see it! I was looking through my telescope pointing in the eastern sky and I also jumped up. It was so bright I lost my night vision and it almost burnt my retina. Wonder what it was.
