Prom on sol

Not much happening at the moment on Sol. A nice prom yesterday prompted me to get the new solar max 60 out. I did find out though that I cannot use the 3x TV barlow with it though. It produces newtons rings, which detract from the image. Seeing was very average too.

Reasonably happy with the image though.

Thanks mate, yep it is a nice peice of equipment. Very solidly built and the image is a lot brighter that the PST double stacked. This solar max 60 is a 0.5angstrom instrument with the T tuner on the front of the scope. Focus is really easy via a focus tube and a helical focusor. It comes with a BF10 also.

Quite a lot heavier that the PST and gives much better views still.

Nice image Paul, thanks for posting it.

That sounds like one fine solar scope. What have you got it mounted on?

Rod it is mounted on the CGE mount I have which also mounts the C14. Just slide the C14 off and slide the solar max 60 on.
