Whale watching at Hervey Bay

Hi everyone,
Just back from a holiday Whale watching and fishing at Hervey Bay.

"Capt'n, there be whales here".

My Wife Kathy and myself had a great time, the Humpback Whales were just magnificent.
A couple of them swam under the boat and surfaced to have a look at us Humans. I wonder what they were thinking about us?
I have always liked whales, but now I have a new insight for these wonderful and gentle creatures.
I can only say Wow.
I will check through my photo's and see which ones will be best to post.

I recommend this holiday to everyone.
My thanks to the crew of the MV Mikat for a fantastic day.

Photo's coming soon.

Mike.

They are amazing creatures Mike that's for sure. At our coast house near Merimbula we can sit on the back balcony and watch them swim by as they head south. sometimes they pull into the bay for a break and it's awesome to watch them then, still yet to catch one on film though.

Cheers

Words just can't explain the feeling that you get seeing them.
Fantastic, just doesn't do it.
Thank God that whaling is banned here.
A hundred years ago there were 30,000 of them. today there are about 7 hundred.
They were great to see though, and we are going back next year.

Mike.

I was up at Hervey Bay a few years ago and went out on Mimi Mcpherson's whale watching cruise, and it was a wonderful experience. Getting to literally 3-4 metres from the whales as they swam up and under the boat was a memory that I will never forget!
