Hello astrocolleagues,
is long that I have written here a contribution.
I was occupied some time with the development of a special project that is also interesting for (amateur) astronomy.
It concerns a searching machine, but not in the kind like everybody knows (Google and co). Searching machine "ARTEMIS" is a searching machine basing on
vectors and is constructed to search for objects
within pictures!.
Actually , "ARTEMIS" contains 2 vectorized astronomical picture databases.
The "SkyMTO-Starcat" which contains admissions of my personal sky survey (northern sky).
The "SkyWEB-Starcat" is an open public database where everybody can integrate his
own pictures of the northern oder southern sky (if he/she likes) to make them searchable.
For more information there exists a bilingual homepage (in German / in English)
"ARTEMIS" Homepage
Furthermore a (German-speaking) article exists in a German astronomy forum.
German Diskussion about "ARTEMIS"
I hope this is of interest for you
Greetings Alex ("VSU-RTF" Observatory / "ARTEMIS" Vector-Search engine)
