M16 Image

Hi Guys,
Here is an shot of M16 I took this weekend. While the image isn't anything great, it's the first image through my N11GPS while autoguided by a 80ED, Qguider and PHD. I took 10 x 5min shots and threw away three due to guiding errors. I was pretty happy to get 7 usable shots out of the 10 on a first attempt .

Anyway the details where 7x5min light, 3x5min darks, Unmodified Canon 400D, N11GPS @ F6.3 guided by 80ED, Qguide and PHD.

Thanks for looking,
Regards,
Stephen

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I really appreciate it. This encouragement really inspires you to go out and try and improve on the next image. Thanks for being so supportive for someone just starting out in imaging.

Regards,
Stephen

Well done!

Thanks Baz,
The N11GPS does a nice job of pulling in detail at 1764mm (@F/6.3), but I need to work on my autoguiding. I'm still getting a bit of trailing on stars. At 1764mm I need to keep my guide corrections less than 0.65 arc secs to prevent trailing. This is proving to be a challenge! I'm also going to try an off axis guider to see if that helps.

Regards,
Stephen
