Some widefield pictures 2nd September

These are some images taken with the Gstar-ex tripod mounted using Berts 100mm lens.
The stacks ranged from only 3 frames to 12 frames only, so I'm pretty stoked with the quality.

Senseup was 128x, which explains why there wasn't many frames to stack.

i see a sad/angry Scottish Terrier in Image 3.

i like image 4- it looks like the stars are hanging in space (no pun intended).

what were the exposure times and aperture?

The images look very good jjjnettie. It is amazing what you can see in real time with a fast c-mount zoom lens let alone with a bit of stacking. Now you know why I use the GstarEX with fast zoom as a finder. The major advantage is no need to waste time for dark adaption to kick in (it takes longer as you get older). Look forward to many more. I am really pleased you are making good use of the lens. For better images stop down a bit as wide open zooms suffer a bit in quality especially at f/1.9.

DJ,
I didn't write down the specs as I was capturing, lazy me.
But the lens is a 16-100mm, and I'm pretty sure it was taken at f2.3.
The Gstar-ex was set at maximum intergration, 128x senseup.

Thanks for the reply, jjjnettie.
I only remember settings because I make it easy for myself- taking photos at either end of the zoom (18 or 200!).

Thanks for the hint Bert.
I found that I couldn't get focus at F1.9, so I have been stopping it down a notch. But now I'll do a couple more notches, and capture a few more frames to make up for it.
It's just that the image looks so good on the monitor, that I want to capture it just as it is. But that way only leads to overexposure.

Great looking images JJJ, I'm not familiar with the GStar camera but it looks like a very capable setup.
