I found a website for the Alice Springs Astronomical Society but an e-mail sent bounced back. Does anyone have any up-to-date contact info for them?

Good luck! A friend of mine tried to contact them a couple of years ago an met a wall of silence. I suspect they might have folded but it would be nice for someone to prove me wrong!
