A Couple more from last night

Hi Guys,

Well when your on a good thing stick to it, they say, well the weather has been kind so i decided to get some more guiding experience.

Here we have M16 and M17, both images are 6 exposures at 5 mins each through the Tak 106 and Canon 5D on the G11, and guided with the Toucam, flats and in camera darks, and processed in Image Plus.

All comments appreciated.

Cheers leon

I'm trying Doug, we have been blessed with three crystal clear nights so far, but i think the end is nigh on the weekend.

Just inside for a while while the guiding dose its magic

Yea, you are right, and i know i'm very lucky to be able to do what i'm doing, and not just with the setup.

Thanks Ric, we are presently enjoying night after night of clear skies, and tonight looks like another coming up, but then again it is still early, long time to go till midnight.

Great images Leon. Lucky Bugger. I've been stuck at work and now that I'm off it has clouded up.
I think I would push out to 800ISO. The on camera noise reduction is pretty good but you could also run it through noiseworks CE or similar. At 800 guided you would certainly add lots of detail and depth.

Great shots keep it up. All I can do is look and turn green

You've certainly taken advantage of the last couple of good nights Leon.

The images with the auto guiding are really looking good, well done.

Very, very nice Leon, I like them alot!..
now you are getting much deeper!!
I would go for the iso 800 but you will have to stack twice as many to smooth things out..
You are going ahead in leaps and bounds
cheers Gary

Youve hobbled yourself severly here, go to 800 or 1600 iso and post higher res, show off the res you paid for :-). The trade off in noise ISO at 1600 and more depth is worth it. I dont know why you would bother with less than 1600 ISO.

Well Fred it is probably because i'm still learning this stuff, and experimenting, and only started auto guiding a couple of days ago.

But i will take your advice and give it a try at some higher ISO .

Cheers Leon
