Nice one Mick,

I had a look outside earlier, saw the moon, saw jupiter, and saw a star very close to the moon and thought, ah, that must be antares. Looked pretty close when just looking with the naked eye.

Cheers

Onya Mick,

I was wondering if someone would get a pic of the event.

Earlier tonight they almost touched, it was stunning!

I even showed Cheryl through the knockies, and to my suprise she said "That's beautiful!"

Great photo, thanks Mike!

Yep, we were out watching - saw them slowly move apart. Great view through the bins and scope.

In fact the seeing was rather good last night. I pushed the scope to 400x and higher by spacing between eyepiece and barlow, and had a spectacular view of moon's surface.

I was so busy to get onto other things before the cloud rolled in (which it did by 9:30), I forgot to turn the scope at this high power to Jupiter - Dumb!
