Patonga, NSW

Spent a week camping at a beautiful spot called Patonga on the Central Coast of NSW. From the beach you can see Barrenjoey Head where I got some dawn shots. Other shots are of Patonga Creek.

Adam,

Some beautiful colours in the first three images.

Think I might need to go there.

Thanks for sharing.

Great sunrises Adam.
Heres a cpl of my Patonga shots from 2 years ago. I wasnt up to the sunrise thing, we were there in winter and if anyone remembers the winter 2 years ago there was a week of bitter cold and that was us in the camper trailer at Patonga ... bed was good option before sun was up.

Beautiful spot we canoed and fished up the creek.

Thanks for the comments guys. Jeff & Grahame, they're top shots
Liz, over the weekend the place was packed and it's extremely popular during school holidays.
H, I was overwhelmed by the ever changing palette of the dawn sky to see the colours change as the sun rose. My shots don't do it justice.

Adam,

It's the most special time of the day to shoot anything, really.

Will definitely head up there at some stage.

Thanks Mitchell, I did a rush job on the raw files using just the Canon tools and on looking at the creek shots again on another monitor they shouldn't be that dark, I'll have to have another crack at them in a better lit area with a proper screen and use the Gimp or PS

Patonga is one of my family's favourite spots. Part of its appeal, as a parent of young children, is that the coastline is well protected, meaning the surf is very placid. The fish and chips ain't bad either!!
