My Afocal Lunar Image

I was observing the moon for a short time last night with our Dob . Had the Pentax 10XW in.

I was fascinated by a particular area on the edge of the Terminator. There were craters valleys and ridges.

I fiddled with the settings on the Sony digital and popped it into the EP Afocal hand held. Took a few shots.

Compared to the images presented by the experts here this is pretty ordinary. But I'm pleased with my little effort as it wasn't planned.

This is a single shot cropped image. Tried a bit of processing in PS. I don't really know a lot about imaging or processing lunar images. So it was a bit hit and miss really.

Schroter's Valley and Montes Agricola was the area that I hadn't seen before. ( I hope I have the right info )

Hi Barb

Looks good to me and a terrific job on the capture, processing and presentation. I really like lunar images where the author has identified and named the main features; it adds an extra dimension when viewing the image.

Cheers

Dennis
