Star Dust - Soot from the star factories.

Subject: Dust Clouds in The Milky Way
Coordinates: Six degrees field of view centred around RA 17h30ms DE:-26°15'
Exposure: 18 x 4 mins (72 mins) 800 ISO 12 Darks 10 Flats
Camera: Canon 350D unmod
Lens: Canon 50mm f1.8 @f6.3
Mount: Meade LXD-75 unguided
Location: Canberra, PM 05Aug07
Process: Alignment, flats and darks in MaxDSLR. Photoshop curves, etc.

Very nice Bill, the dust cloud is such a contrast against the rich starfield. It makes for a wonderful image.

Another nice one Bill!
shows of the pipe dark neb very nicely. Again nice tight stars!
I compared it with some I have and I can see the difference with the lense stopped down to f/6.3, much tighter as I usually leave my 50mm lense at f/4..
