FOR SALE: Coronado PST

Coronado personal solar scope in case. Used only five to six times and this the reason for the sale. Asking $795.00 which includes registered Australian Post delivery anywhere in Australia. Prefer to sell in Sydney so the buyer can look at and through it before buying. Please PM if interested.

Thanks for looking

George

19-7-2007 PS. I removed the lense photo which reflected my red shirt and invited long distance and non-factual diagnosis of the "red colour problem". The new photo of the lense again reflect a yellow wall and the camera.

How old is the PST?

It appears to be the original design (last pic shows a red objective lens) which suffer from "rust" in the lens. New design, which addresses rust problem, have a blue objective.

Just wanting to clarify, thanks.

Good price with a case & postage.

The originals were all blue too, it's just when you reflect light off the
objective the orange coloured defect starts to show. Otherwise it's
still blue. Mine has the same problem, but I am yet to detect any
degradation of the views through it, even compared to one not showing
the defect. Having it repaired and/or the new models that have been
modified that Meade is now putting out, there is a slight loss in contrast
and is why I haven't bother to have it repaired.

My original had an opaque, aqua colored objective and the inside of the ota was unblackened. After repair the objective is blue and translucent and the ota is blackened to cope with the extra light passing through the objective. The original concept was better but poorly implemented. The main concern is to have any necessary repairs done in the warranty period.

Please keep discussions of out for-sale threads - if you're not interested in buying, please don't reply.

Discussions about PSTs should go in the Equipment Discussions thread.

The colour is blue / green as originally arrived. The red colour is the camera flash and the the reflection of my red shirt.
