Moon, Venus, Saturn - 18 July

Well, a day late but the weather's been shocking the last few days! Still a lovely view tonight.

First session with new 400D, playing with various adjustments in Manual mode. This one was ISO 100, F/5.6, 6-sec, autofocus, and just the 18-55mm kit lens. Tripod mounted.

Cheers -

Very nice Rob - a terrific atmospheric looking photo. Looks like you have quite a decent, dark observing location? Great results for a new camera – I’d be all fingers and thumbs!

Cheers

Well done Rob, a great first light. The stock 18-55 lens is fine for starting off with, it's not great around the edges at 18mm but it can still take nice photos.

As a next budget ugprade, you might want to look at the 17-70mm sigma - a very nice lens, which a number of IIS'ers have invested in lately.
