Moon, Venus and Saturn(?) tonight

Here's a couple of hasty shots I took tonight on my way to squash... (Actually , it was f-f-f-ff-ff-freezing and I was outside in shorts fumbling with the new camera in the dark cause I was leaving when I saw and went back for the camera).

I'd like to think I can do better, but under duress what can you expect!

One is 5 seconds at f5.6 and 400ASA, and the other is 2 seconds. Both have had levels adjusted and saved for the web in PS CS3.

Al.

Yes lovely tonight. I admired the sight! Tomorrow will be better with the Moon closer, but local forecast is for wind, rain, hail, sleet..... nothing to see tomorrow night, so if you guys would take shots and post them? Thanks.

Nice shot, like Eric said i think tonight will give a nice widefield opportunity. I brought the camera and tripod to work so I can try and catch them on the way home.

It wasn't just the hand that was cool! "Tripod Al"... no... that's not right either... "Al that is known as 'Al with a tripod for his camera'" is probably more correct!

I'm not expecting that opportunity tonight . The forecast is for snow tonight so I'm expecting the cloud to be building up if the snow hasn't started...

Moon, Venus and Saturn July 17

I didn't expect to get this opportunity tonight. Here's a few more images of different exposures (ranging from 1/30 sec to 1 sec) of the Moon and Venus and also the Moon, Venus and Saturn.

I spent probably less than 30 minutes out in the breeze capturing these, and I must say the cold was savage! With everything rugged up the fingers got very painful very quickly fiddling with the camera.
