For Trade: An amazing C8

I've got an amazing C8 ota with superb optics. However I want an even more amazing 5"-6" APO so I would like to canvas a possible trade.

The C8 in question has all the usual features plus:

Bob's knobs
High transmission coatings (starbright?)
Borg Focus lock
Moonlite electric focusser with high precision stepper motor, computer interface, software etc etc. This focuser alone cost AUD$800
Alan Gee Focal reducer (very expensive and not used so far)
Dew shield

As you might have guessed, I use this scope mainly for imaging.

Its just that I used to have a 4" TMB and I'm lusting after something in a APO that 5" or greater.

So if you have such a beast and would consider a trade (plus cash of course), send me a message.

Cheers

Lars

Yep - I can't wait. I'm going to mount it on a Bartellised EQ5 ala Martin's setup.

You've bought the D40 already??

Cheers

Chris

It was a real priveledge, I don't get to mix with too many people of my predilection, that sounds really snobby dosen't it. Its not. Have a wonderful time with a really great scope and thanks

Cheers

Cheers Lars - it was great meeting you. You have a very nice setup out there, and I wish I had my Cooma place as well sorted - maybe soon.

I thank you for the scope - it's a ripper. I've just had to collimate it a little because of the trip, but it's good now. If the weather holds I'll leave it out for a while and check it again after cooldown.

I found the perfect dovetail for it - and although it came off a Skywatcher, the bolt holes lined up perfectly with the C8's. Lucky I guess!

Cheers - and thanks again
Chris
