An experiment with IR filters

I have previously posted the comparison results of 'no filter', 'Toucam IR Filter' and Full IR Cut Filter.

I tried an experiment by using BOTH the Toucam filter and the IR Cut filter together!!!

Just to see what would happen

Here is the result with Omega Centauri.

ED80, Modded Toucam 840k. both filters together, 6 x 100 second images stacked.

Hi Ken, I like the blue tinge to it and it's nicely resolved as well. I think that you have lost some of the fainter stars though, probably the effect from the combination of the two filters.

Cheers

I think so too. Had to try though, or I'd never know.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say. It's all good research for future images.
