Argo Navis and Shocking Weather

Still not much joy over here with the weather.

My Argo Navis arrived about 12 days ago and we have had nothing but rain since then. The ground is so wet. Someone went off our drive (standard suburban driveway) and had to be towed out!!

However, I got out for about 80 minutes on Wednesday, set the telescope on the driveway to get familiar with the Argo Navis. In that time I only managed to get the encoder senses right and have one real good crack at doing an star alignment. Those encoder senses are tricky, I was a bit confused when the AN was saying that Cassopeia was above the horizon!!

Itching to get out again.

Also, I had a few dummy runs with hooking up the AN to Skymap Pro v11. Very easy. Set the baud rate to 9600 on serial 2 and the protocol to meade and away everything talked well. Used Argonaut to upload catalogs and comets. It all works so well.

All the best.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the post.

It's clear here in Sydney today so hopefully the good weather will blow your way.

Hi Paul,
Yes, the weather is very sad!
Sunday night is looking promising, 6° & clear.
Although, as stated, find some firm ground first

Regards
