First Light in Bloomfield (FNQ)

After having the scope in storage since February (because I was expecting to move elsewhere), I decided to take the plunge and take it to Bloomfield (current home). On arrival, I immediately got it re-assembled and ready for viewing. Unfortunately the area has been blocked with clouds and rain for what seems months now, so there was no viewing to be had . I guess it was similar to buying new gear, so I was expecting a wait.

However, second night, partially clear skies . Enough cloud vacant areas to re-aquaint myself with Venus, Saturn, Jupiter (and moons) and a look at the lunar landscape. Surrounded by hills and trees, the viewing of much else is a challenge, and will require a move up the road to an oval for wider fields of view. Anyway, its great to be back behind the eyepiece!

Cheers,

Graeme
