Observing Chairs?

I am looking for a second chair. I brought my current one from Bintel many years ago. From memory, it was about $150.

The cheapest I can now find is $700, so I am wondering if someone has found a more economical solution. For example, has anybody found an item of office furniture that works fine.

Any suggestions please.

I've always used a fold-up timber directors chair with a canvas seat. Packs flat for travel and carrying, and is easy to keep clean. Most hardware stores have them for $50 to $75.

Thank goodness this is about practical seating while observing.

The title made me think people were "train spotting" sofa's and the like.

$700 for an adjustable chair!!! Strike me pink. I'll be keeping mine under lock and key from now on. And keeping it out of the sun so the plastic seat cover doesn't crack.

Those chairs are far superior to any office furniture due to the greater range of adjustment, which I do use.

Hi Bob. I've been looking for one too and the prices are ridiculous. Maybe a drum chair but there's not much height adjustment. A diy Denver chair might be good. If an Iceinspacer made some they would sell quickly I reckon. Could be a good little earner for a retiree hobbyist.
Cheers Richard

While I neither have use for one (I use a small step ladder for my newt) nor the inclination to build one I've seen many a plan for building them out of timber that didn't look overly awkward or complex if you have basic wood working tools and the health/time/inclination.
Worth a look if you're in a position to knock something together much cheaper than commercial units. Crater101, I'm talking to you, lol.

I didn't look at a lot of these but I would assume the materials list wouldn't be overly costly or hard to knock together health, time and inclination permitting.
Worth a look if you're in a position for a little DIY.
