Help Required! New Super Nova or Nova (Maybe!!)

Hi All,

I've been conducting some joint super nova patrols with a friend in Italy in the southern skies.
We have found what looks to be a nova or super nova in the deep south. We require a “spectrum of the star to confirm its nature”.

Does anyone know someone who can do this work for us? They need to have access to a spectrograph?

On the POSS plates and previous observations using my system the star is greater than mag 20+, on the 23/24th June its now mag 15.9/15.7!!

We have also confirm it’s not a known variable star.

Cheers,
Brad Moore

Have you tried Dave Herald or David Higgins?
