Static Electricity Build Up may have caused the Computer problems on the ISS

This from news @ nature:

http://www.nature.com/news/2007/0706.../070618-4.html

suggests the computer problems may have been caused by static electricity build up. The ISS collects charge from the atmosphere (even though it's very thin) which is routinely dischraged to space by a small jet of Xenon atoms. When the new solar panels were being attached it it possible they built significant charge while not earthed to the station, causing problems when they were.
