My entry is a section of the roof of the Art centre in Singapore. Taken on 30th March 07 from my hotel room. The smaller colour shot is the whole futuristic building.
My entry this time around is of St Marys Cathedral and the Archibald Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park, Sydney. Taken on a VERY wet and gloomy August day in 2006.
I haven't been around for a few months, but here is my effort for June's Photo Comp.
Taken last September, it is of the top few storeys of the Riverside Centre in Brisbane, but without the antennae on the top, which I removed with Photoshop, (they weren't part of the Architect's original design )
1/100 at f5.6, ISO 200 and 100-400 Canon zoom, set at 275mm with the 300D.

Once upon a time, way before email, a time even before Aussie Post was called Aussie Post, there was the Post Master Generals Office also later known as the PMG.
I was stunned when I visited the General Post Office Building in Martin Place in Sydney on Friday while I went looking for architectural examples around the city. There's certainly many examples of fine architecture to be had.
This one caught my attention as the sweeping stairs take you up to the Mezzanine which then leads you to the first floor.
But being the bustling city on a Friday afternoon, there were too many people around to take the photo I wanted so I had to return around midnight when only the cleaner could be heard down in the lower floors.
I literally had to lay down on the carpet to get this shot and didn't use any flash.
Changed my mind regarding my entry this month. I still think that the Planetarium is a cool piece of architecture, but passing the Walter Taylor bridge at sunset tonight, a little voice inside my head shouted "Thats it!"
This is the only vehicular suspension bridge that I know of in Brisbane, not only that, people live in it. I would have liked to have taken the image from the other end as there are no poles and wires spoiling the view but (a), a building masks the sky directly behind the northern pylon, and (b) I would have to stand in the middle of the road to get a similar angle. You can't listen to ALL the little voices in your head

I've finiall found something to photograph in my travels lately to enter.
I took this while we we're flying kites in the park. Thanks a lot to Energex for retrieving our kite from the 11kv power lines after Rigil droped the line in the middle during a rather big gust of wind! (I thought I'd better call them as it was caught in the lines on one side of Oxley Rd and in trees on the other. If it ever came down in traffic it might cause an accident. They didn't really know what to do in the call centre. I was on hold for ages after explaining what had happened. )
