Astro-Physics Riccardi Honders Astrograph F3.8 305mm

I am looking for expressions of interest as to buy my beloved AP RHA 305 F3.8 scope.

I am retiring and need to downsize.

This scope is amazing. No collimation needed ever. No diffraction spikes.
AP craftsmanship, oversized tube that seems to allow tube currents to flow out without affecting the image.

Optics are clean.

It's great at 12 inches F3.8 to capture a lot of photons quickly given the vagaries we have in this game of weather and time.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

Greg.

Hi Greg,

well, this is a VERY serious piece of kit - the one and only scope that one ever needs, correct ?

I checked it out on the Astro-Physics website, and it is phenomenal - what exactly would come with the OTA, and what is your idea for a price-point, please ?

I am observing at 850 metres altitude in Eungella, QLD, which is roughly 80 km.s inland from Mackay. Our night skies are pitch-black; when the seeing is good and no clouds around I often just lie in an armchair on our lawn in front of the house and marvel at the heavens above - one can see the Magellanic clouds with bare eyes, Andromeda, and a few other nebulas and galaxies. Once you use the binoculars you are already blown away, and my 10 inch Newtonian has a ball. I can only imagine what a really good scope like yours would enable me to see - provided I can afford it this behemoth would very likely be my last and one & only scope to use until I croak. I'm early retired, living with my sweetie on acreage high up in the mountains, no neighbours, no light pollution, lots of wildlife - just perfect !

My email for sharing any documents is florian.wolfman@gmx.de and it would be lovely to hear from you.

All the best and kind regards from Eungella,

Florian
